The Quarter Life Chronicles

Even Flow 12/13/2008

I get so frustrated sometimes when it comes to blogging.  It seems whenever I "think" I have found a perfect place in which to lay out my thoughts and contemplations on my life and the world...I find a fatal flaw with the system.

When I was using Xanga, I hated how you HAD to sign up with Xanga in order to comment.  When I moved on to Blogger I hated how often I couldn't log into my own blog in order to write.  It was really frustrating to have an idea in your head-just to find that your normal outlet is broken and unaccessible to you.  When I moved to Wordpress I became annoyed with how difficult it could be to post something as simple as a video or a sidebar widget.  For a long time though, I did use Wordpress and I thrived on it.

But then I got bored (as I tend to do) and I moved over to Weebly...a move which everyday I've been regreting.  It's just not a very good blogging host and well, perhaps this is my fault, but I feel as though my audience is limited to those dedicated readers who have been following me from blogger or Wordpress.

I really hate having to redirect your attention so soon after I made my big announcement that I was moving shop to my Weebly address...but my patience level here is quickly waning.  Nearly everytime I log in to Weebly I notice something funny going on here...or when I attempt to make corrections or change something around...those changes just don't show up, or elements magically disappear for a period of time without warning.

I wanted to wait until the New Year to make changes (and hopefully unveil something new) but somehow I don't think I'm going to make it that far.  I am entirely too homesick.  I miss the old Quarter Life Chronicles and so I am packing up and heading home.  Hopefully you all remember my old address, but just in case:

I have to admit I won't miss having to write in my details every time I comment but that's cos I'm lazy ;)

I would say, though, Blogger has never done me wrong so I'd give them another try if you ever need to move again.

Why not try Window Live Writer to write your blogs (it has lots of add-ons to find pictures etc and includes Zemanta) and it will post for you so you don't have to go to your blog at all if you don't want.

I love BetterGReader which is a Firefox add-on for Google Reader that allows you to preview and comment from your Reader on the blog feeds that you have selected to come down. So you don't have to actually visit the blog in question. Both are terrific time savers.

Being middle age not yet old as dirt. I find a lot of things hard for me to do in blogging one I'm clueless how to do a video and I actual would like to add more to my sidebar such as awards and things that are happening.
I know it me main cause of my blogging short coming what can I say.

Keep looking, you'll find the right fit.

If you are looking for suggestions I definitely recommend Typepad. I find it very user friendly and easy to tweak to your liking.

Whatever you choose, I'll be reading. Sometimes it takes me a week or so to find the time but when I do find it, I enjoy catching up.

LOL, you should have stuck with blogger. I know it occasionally gives problems, but I've honestly found it to be a really reliable blogging medium.

Okay, off to change your details on my blogroll now :-)

I'm with Ys and Vanilla: Blogger is awesome, but go where ever your heart leads you. We'll be sure to follow.

I've only ever used blogger. It works for a simple girl like me, even though I've had my share of complaints...

In any case - rockin' title, I love Pearl Jam! :)

Wordpress did take some getting used to, but it works so much better than Blogger. And yeah, I was frustrated with the trick to getting a video posted for awhile.

The important thing is for you to find a place that makes things easy to post. Blogging isn't fun if it's a struggle.

I don't trust neither on blogger nor on wordpress. Both are quite old and I am sick of both of them. I think some of the new blog platforms are making the difference, weebly is a tough competitor in the blogging arena nowadays.
